Justin Whitehorse-Typical High School Student
I woke up on a Tuesday morning for school as I usually do five days a week at 6:30am and took a shower. After I got dressed, I headed to the kitchen to grab some breakfast before my dad drops me off to school. School usually goes from 8:00 to 3:30pm. Once I got to school, I met up with one of my friends; we have football practice first period together.
So as first period started, Coach Danforth went over our game plan and went over some strategies for throwing and catching the football. Coach was being a lot harder with us today because we had a season 2 game coming up and there was going to be some serious competition. After practice, I had Government and the lecture was about the government system in Damonville. I learned the voting age had been raised to 21. I guess it was a smart decision since many people have a greater background about politics and their minds have developed by that age to make the right decision. Also, our government system consists of a true democracy in which everyone’s voice is being heard. Congress does not make a bill into law unless ALL members of Congress have agreed upon it. I think this is a great compromise so that everyone gets their equal share of ideas.
English went by quick and lunch was half an hour. By the end of the day, Biology was the last class. We learned about genetic engineering. By the time it was 3:30, Jim and I headed to the gym for practice. By 5:00pm, I headed home and my family and I had dinner before I started homework. At the dinner table, we discussed about our day and how school was. Homework was light today so I finished by 9:00pm and decided to go to sleep.

Miranda Conwell-Owner of “Sweet and Sour Grill”
Today I’m headed for work as I grab a coffee from the local coffee shop one block from my apartment. The restaurant is about 5 blocks from there so I usually walk if the weather permits. I open the restaurant up by 9:00 am on weekdays and it is open till 9:00 pm. The restaurant is a family business so we sometimes all get together there.
Business is going great as usual thanks to Damonville’s new business management policy the government has signed this year. It has shown profound effects not only in my business but other markets as well. Unlike the U.S. employment has been rising so every individual can support their families. Even though competition does exist since the city consists of many restaurants, it’s not that bad.
Today, I felt like I really achieved something for this family business. “Sweet and Sour Grill” was awarded for “Best Eat-In Diner of the Metropolitan”. Because of this, more people started coming in and eventually we had to extend the hours a little, but business was going great. Two weeks later, my aunt came up with this new recipe for sweet and sour roast. We had a tasting and everyone loved it.
By 9:00pm, I had closed the restaurant and my husband came to pick me up. We had dinner together and my husband told me had to go to a business meeting in California so he was going to be out for two days. So after we got home, I took a shower and went to sleep after checking on the kids.

Ted Parker-City Police Officer
My day on the job as a police officer is always exciting yet risky. As a police officer, we have pledged to protect our citizens. The great thing about Damonville is that our prohibition of alcohol consumption has greatly improved conditions for the road. Deaths due to car crashes have reduced dramatically. As a police officer, it feels great to know that by enforcing the rules, you may be actually saving one’s life.
I began my shift from 3:00pm which is the busiest time of the day since kids are coming out of school; some walking home, others carpool. So it’s my job to be aware of any suspicious activity going around. I usually park my car in a less obvious area and lookout for speeding cars and passersby. As a police officer, it’s important to be aware like an eagle. You really have to act fast if something occurs.
As much as I hate giving out tickets, it must be given to those who deserve it to make sure that same error doesn’t occur again. By the end of the day, I come home to my loving and supportive home and see the children have already gone to bed.
